    Part-time Adolescent Mental Health (AMH) Clinician Tuesday and Wednesday 6Hrs and Saturdays 8 Hours in he Bronxe

    Position Summary:

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure the provision of quality mental health services through a variety of clinical practice modalities and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Provide clinical services to residents utilizing professional knowledge, values, and skills.

    Conduct mental health screenings and clinical in depth mental health assessments

    Reporting to the Supervisor, will develop and implement treatment plans as indicated and collaborate with all members of the DYFJ team to formulate and implement behavior plans (Care Plans)

    Engage in a variety of therapeutic interventions that include individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, family consultation and discharge planning

    On-going coordination & consultation with Case management to facilitate family engagement & participation

    Attend and participate in all hall meetings

    Initiate interaction and peer consultation as needed with Medical, Psychiatry & Psychology treatment teams to enhance treatment planning

    Continually monitor and evaluate achievement of goals set in treatment plan

    Complete court ordered reports as instructed by supervisor

    Actively utilize supervision to enhance clinical skills and job performance

    Actively pursue professional training needs by participating in educational activities which address specific clinical competencies

    Practice and promote legal and ethical standards

    Communicate with all DYFJ staff and agencies in order to promote mental health service delivery and discharge planning

    Maintain the confidentiality of resident related information

    Abide by all relevant institutional, departmental, and program policies and procedures and state and federal law.

    Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in Social Work or related field

    LMSW or LMHC required

    Min of two (2) to three (3) years of experience (preferably clinical) with children and adolescents

    Excellent computer experience in MS Office suite and other related programs.

    Excellent presentation skills both verbal and written

    Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus not required.

    Position Summary:

    Over the past 6 years, our organization has contracted with NYC Administration for Children’s Services to provide mental health services to adolescents in Secure & Non-Secure Juvenile detention. The role of the CASAC Mental Health Aide within detention facilities is centered around the milieu approach. The role of the CASAC Mental Health Aide in the milieu includes the provision of clinical services in a variety of treatment modalities (from Individual therapy, Group therapy, Crisis intervention, Family consultation & Discharge planning) with specific emphasis on substance use prevention & intervention strategies.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Under the oversight of the Clinical Supervisor, will conduct on going Substance Use Screening Assessments (CRAFFT) for adolescents in detention.

    Will work collaboratively with mental health clinicians to provide evidence based substance use interventions as part of the broader treatment plan led by the mental health clinician

    Use of evidence based protocols (ex. Teen Intervene, Seeking Safety etc.) through the modalities of individual & group therapy to address issues of substance use

    On-going coordination & consultation with Case management to facilitate youth & family engagement & participation

    Attend and participate in all hall meetings

    Initiate interaction and peer consultation as needed with Medical, Psychiatry & Psychology treatment teams to enhance treatment planning around substance use issues & treatment planning.

    Continually monitor and evaluate achievement of substance use goals set in treatment plan

    Run substance use psychoeducation groups

    Actively utilize supervision to enhance clinical skills and job performance

    Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Certification required.

    Excellent presentation skills both verbal and written

    Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus not required.

    Attend and participate in all hall meetings along with or on behalf of the Supervisor

    Initiate collaboration as needed with Medical, Psychiatry & Psychology treatment teams to enhance treatment planning

    Complete court ordered reports as instructed by supervisor

    Oversee orientation of new staff & supervise junior clinicians & student interns

    Actively pursue professional training needs by participating in educational activities which address specific clinical competencies

    Practice and promote legal and ethical standards

    Complete all required clinical documentation
